Captain Thomas Johnstone, 1772-1839 Smuggler’s Reach
Thomas Johnstone was born in poverty in Hampshire in 1771 and became a freelance pilot, smuggler, a collaborator of the American Robert Fulton and eventually captain of the revenue cutter HMS Fox.
Hardback. No dust jacket. Green book cloth binding with gilt text to spine (very faded). Very light foxing spots to end papers. Otherwise in very good condition. The Rogues Gallery Number Two.
