Leni Riefenstahl was a German film director, actress and dancer whose personal friendship with Adolf  Hitler and her propaganda film, made at the 1934 Nuremberg congress of the Nazi Party blighted her film career after WW2.In her 70s she learned to dive in order to extend her photographic skills underwater.

After her death, she was acclaimed as a pioneer of film and photographic techniques. Her documentaries were hailed as groundbreaking  using pioneering techniques involving cranes, tracking rails, and many cameras working at the same time.
