Bernard Breakell trained as a diver with the Royal Navy at HMS Drake in with a view to starting a diving section for the civil engineering department for which he worked. The book recounts his experiences during training, setting up the diving Section which were on occasion both strange and amusing. It deals with the theoretical side of diving and early diving practices.
