Dr Irenaus Eibl-Eibesfeldt was a member of the Max Planck Institute and accompanied Hans Hass on a voyage to the Maldive and Nicobar Islands in the Indian Ocean. In addition to studying the undersea flora and fauna, he also examined the occupants of these exotic islands.
Hardback with dust jacket in protective cellophane cover. Fair condition. Top and bottom edges of the dust jackets are rubbed and small pieces are missing. Inside pages in very good condition and include a fold-out page of maps of the Maldive and Nicobar Islands John Bevan bookplate on front endpaper.
Black and white illustrations and photographs (b&w and colour) throughout.
