Although main focus is British Merchant Shipping, it also includes merchant ships from several other countries including Germany, France, Sweden, Egypt, etc. Illustrated with silhouettes of ships and fighter planes noting features, type, dimensions and armament.

Hardback dark blue cloth cover with gilt lettering on the spine and debossed title on front cover. Cover rubbed at corners, frayed and splitting at spine. 6 or 7 pages (4 at the front and 3 at the back of the book) have been re-attached at the spine end of the page with archival tape.
