Shipwrecks of the Isle of Wight, by K Phillips
Shipwrecks of the Isle of Wight
Ken Phillips
The waters around the Isle of Wight are some of the busiest in Europe. Not surprisingly, the toll in shipwreck over the centuries has been great. Some well-known wrecks like Mary Rose and Royal George have become part of maritime history. The author unearths the details of many lesser known wrecks. He looks at the causes of wreck and of the impact on the people who lived along the shores.
Hardback. Very good condition. Names of some vessels in the index have been highlighted. Inside front cover scuffed where something has been removed.
