Hardback with dust jacket. Dust jacket water stained especially along lower edge. Inside pages slightly wrinkled from water damage (no pages stuck together or torn). First 14-16 pages show signs of stain around bottom right hand corner. Front endpaper inscribed ’13-5-56. Happy Birthday, with love from Carol’. The first edition of his training manual covering all aspects of diver training.
The author, Trevor Hampton, was the Chief Instructor of the British Underwater Centre, one of the first diving clubs that was established in the UK. It pre-dated the British Sub Aqua Club. His pupils qualified as ‘Menfish’, ‘Mermaids’ or ‘Tadpoles’.
