Amongst the articles is a 12-page account about the Lutine. The introduction to the article reads: In 1799, the British frigate Lutine, carrying a cargo of gold and silver ingots and a large amount of coined money sank off the Dutch coast taking the bullion with her. Ever since those far-off days numerous attempts – some of them fairly successful – have been made to recover the precious hoard. This remarkable story deals with a mysterious affair arising out of the operations of an expedition which, in 1933, tried a new method of salvage.
