Genuine 19th century engraving of the rescue at sea in cream mount.

Dated 1875.

In 1875 HMS Vanguard sank off Kish (Ireland) after colliding in fog with the iron-clad HMS Iron Duke. None of the crew was lost but the commanding officer never commaded another vessel. This print commemorates that event.
